Cocoa Ghana: How We Do It

Cocoa , known in agriculture as Theobrana cacao, was introduced into Ghanaian agriculture in the last quarter of the 19 th century by Tetteh Quarshie, a Ghanaian national. Soon after its introduction, it quickly became the leading export crop for the country. In 2000, total cocoa production in Ghana was 436,000 metric tons – 98% higher than the previous season and the highest in a decade, a large portion of which was processed and exported by Luki Cocoa Ghana.

We only select beans which are ferment for seven days, followed by a period of drying in natural sunlight. Using natural sunlight gives our cocoa products a finer quality than those produced by others using artificial sources of heat for drying.
